Mass Meeting of the Winchester Committee of the Republican Party of Virginia

Meeting Details

The Mass Meeting will be held at The George Washington Hotel, 103 E. Piccadilly St, Winchester, or an alternate site, starting at 7:00 PM on Thursday, March 19th, 2026.

Registration will begin at 6:30 PM and close promptly at 7:00 PM, except for those waiting in line.

Purposes of the Mass Meeting

The Mass Meeting will be held for the following purposes:

1. A. To elect a Unit Committee Chairman;
2. B. To elect members of the Unit Committee;
3. C. To elect up to 170 Delegates and 170 Alternates to the District Convention of the 6th Congressional District of the Republican Party of Virginia, to be held on Saturday, April 25th, 2026, at Peter Muhlenberg Middle School, 1251 Susan Avenue, Woodstock, VA, or its alternate site, starting at 10:00 A.M.

The purposes of the District Convention are:

1. Electing a Chairman for the Sixth Congressional District of the Republican Party of Virginia
2. Electing three (3) Regional Vice Chairmen for the Sixth Congressional District of the Republican Party of Virginia
3. The transaction of such other business that may properly come before the Sixth Congressional District Republican Convention.

Delegate Fee

A fee of $20.00 is required of each person elected as a Delegate or Alternate Delegate to the 6th District Convention. Each registration fee shall be paid to the Winchester Republican Committee.

Qualifications for Participation

All legal and qualified voters of Winchester under the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, regardless of race, religion, national origin or sex, who are in accord with the principles of the Republican Party and who, if requested, express in open meeting either orally or in writing as may be required, their intent to support all of its nominees for public office in the ensuing election, may participate as members of the Republican Party of Virginia in this Mass Meeting, subject to the provisions of Article I of the Plan of Organization of the Republican Party of Virginia.

Pre-Filing Requirements

Candidates for election as chairman or election as a member of the committee or election as a Delegate to the District Convention of the Sixth Congressional District of the Republican Party of Virginia must file a written statement of their intent on a form provided by the Winchester Republican Committee by mail or in person, to:

This must be received (in person or by mail) no later than 5:00 PM on Sunday, March 1, 2026. Postmarks do not apply.

Filing Fees:

• $50 filing fee must accompany any application for the position of Committee Chair.
• $40.00 Winchester Republican Committee Membership dues must accompany any application for membership.
• Applicable Convention Registration Fee(s) must accompany any application for Delegate to the 6th District Convention.

Military Members as Convention Delegates

Military Members (any members of the Virginia National Guard, or the United States Armed Forces, Merchant Marine, or Coast Guard currently serving on active duty) who comply with these filing requirements shall not be required to be elected as 6th District Convention delegates, but shall be declared delegates pursuant to Article VIII, Section H. of the Plan of Organization of the Republican Party of Virginia.

Military Member delegates or alternate delegates that are unable to attend the convention in person due to obligations of their official military orders shall have their votes cast within their unit delegation according to candidate preference ballots. Instructions regarding the casting of candidate preference ballots are available in the Calls for the Conventions, which is available on the website of the Republican Party of Virginia (www.virginia.gop) and 6th District Republican Committee (https://sixthdistrictgop.org).

Registration Fee

There will be no registration fee to participate in this mass meeting.

Cancellation

If not more than the number of persons to be nominated or elected shall file for any office, then such properly filed persons shall be declared nominated or elected as the case may be, and no election will occur for that office. Should all elections be canceled, the Mass Meeting will also be canceled.
